Step 19: Ask for a Review Mid-book

If you don't ask you may not get your you want.

Remember the old adage, you won't get anything if you don't ask for it? Well, what you need more than anything as a new author, even more than sales, are reviews. To get more reviews for your book, I recommend that you ask for reviews in your book.

As you approach finishing your book, find a chapter break somewhere near the middle of the book and add a new chapter asking for a review. This book includes the following review request:

11 Intermission: Please Stop to Leave a Review

Reviews are incredibly important to helping a book grow and thrive. Please take a moment right now to visit this book's Amazon product page and leave a review. It would help the book so much, and I would be forever grateful. Here's a link to the book's Amazon product page:

Simply scroll down the page to below the customer reviews and click on the "Write a customer review" button to leave your review.

Thank you for your continued support,

---Brian

Note that this request is made even more powerful by including a link to your Amazon book product page in the message. Of course, doing so requires that you first publish the book so you can get its product page URL and then update the book interior with the new message. This is an added nuisance, but then I think it's important to make getting your review as easy as possible for your reader.
