What is KDP?

An introduction to KDP along with setup instructions.

The Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) web-based interface allows you to self-publish a book on Amazon and then monitor the sales of your Kindle eBooks and POD paperbacks. KDP presents a series of prompts used to gather the information required to construct your Amazon book product page and to upload your book interior and cover for distribution to your readers.

In order to publish your book, you'll first need to set up an account and then log in at the KDP website:

Follow the instructions in this chapter to publish your formatted Word document on Amazon as a downloadable Kindle eBook.

Setting Up a KDP Account

Adding an account will allow Amazon to both pay you and send payment records to the IRS. Begin your journey into self-publishing by clicking on the "Sign up" button (click "Sign in" instead of you already have an Amazon account).

Once logged in, you should be asked to update your account information by entering your address and taxpayer ID.

I think you'll find the forms to be self-explanatory.
